The Rorschach and Projective Methods as a narrative possibility

Telling yourself during the life stages

Via Verdi, 9 - Turin

In the process of personality comprehension, projective techniques are an elective tool that accompanies and mediates the encounter with the other. They represent the space-time that allows the complete expression of the individual’s authenticity, through the projection of his own cognitive, emotional and mutual dynamics, always different and constantly changing along the different stages of life.

«The psychological tests are knowledge doors which help us move out of the box and into the light» Rorschach said, thus supporting the proposal that the Conference makes of using projective methods as tools that allow us to

re-signify personal history, to give back sense to our own story and inner life.

Place of body and self representation, the Rorschach Test is therefore presented here not only as method of the diagnosis of personality structure, but rather as a place where, through the construction of the responses to the cards, the person gives birth to his own personal history tale.
